My Story

Jasmine Richardson.JPG

I see you decided you wanted to get to know me a little better thank you. Well as you know I am Jasmine a mother & wife who decided to take on the journey of becoming a blogger and influencer back when I was 25 years old, I am now 28. So it's only been a few years since I first started this adventure but blogging has always been something I wanted to pursue I just never knew what to write about until I had my son DeMarcus Bryson. With a little extra push from my oh so amazing husband, I ended up with DeMarcusBSean.com clearly named after my son. Who if you didn't know is a CHD Warrior, you can learn a little more about what CHD is and his story by going to my CHD page

Now back to me let's see honestly sharing with you who I am is kind of uncomfortable to me, it's definitely out of my comfort zone but here we go.

I am Jasmine (yes I know said that already) but it's true that's my name. I was born and raised in Baytown, Tx, and if you don't know where in the world that is I'm from Houston to make it simple. I now live in Dallas, TX being that I graduated in 2016 from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor's in Social Work and Minor in Diversity Studies. Fun fact I originally went to school to get a degree in biology and go to medical school to become a doctor, Neurosurgeon to be exact. But when I tell you life hit me hard in college whew man it was not fun at all almost every single year of college something just drastic happened to me. If you stick along for the ride I'm sure I will eventually begin to tell you all the juicy details. For now just know it was a crazy mess that eventually leads me to just change my degree plan and hurry up and get the hell out of college. I would say the one good thing that came out of it all was meeting my husband DeMarcus. We met in my last semester of college (I'm a year older than him) on Twitter of all places. Just by pure coincidence and honestly neither of us went into this intending to even date much less having a child and getting married. Yet, here we are happily married for almost 2 years now in July with a beautiful little boy and a baby girl on the way.

Even though we live in Dallas neither of our families live here so sometimes it can be a little hard especially for me. My husband is a military brat so he moved around a lot and he has a small family compared to me. I am the oldest of 5. That's 4 girls and 1 boy, so its Jasmine (me), Jaimee, Erin, Sean, and Kaylee. We may not always get along but we do have a great sibling bond which is something my mother and father made sure to instill in us since we were little. If no one else has your back your siblings sure do. Honestly, I can say this is very true in our case, my siblings are my best friends and I wish we lived closer.

So now that you know a little bit about my school background and family history let me just tell you a couple of facts about me.

  1. I am an Introvert like I'm talking super Introvert, I get so nervous around people I don't know. I literally just shut down and go into panic mode you may even catch me in the corner crying that's how bad it is.

  2. I'm very Blunt and honestly it can come off as being kind of mean and non-friendly. But, I promise if you take the chance to get to know me I'm a super empathic person and extremely sensitive. ( I don't have many friends)

  3. I love seafood, it just makes me so happy bury me with Crawfish and Crab legs, please.

  4. Crime shows and documentaries are my guilty pleasure. But you also can't go wrong with Grey's Anatomy.

  5. I love reading & puzzles, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, Gryffindor House over here.

  6. Outdoors is my happy place, even though I'm afraid of heights I love to do adventurous things with my husband. Our next thing to try on vacation is sky diving so wish us luck.

  7. I grew up in a biracial family. (I have a whole blog post dedicated to that coming.)

  8. I don't really like sweet's never have more of a fruit person but I do love baking them.

  9. I've always wanted to visit Australia it's on my bucket list. Along with a lot of other places, I've only ever been out of the country once.

  10. I can play the Trumpet, might be a little rusty but I'm sure I could figure it out if I picked it up again.

While I don't want this to go on forever there is so much more I could say and I promise to tell you about it all eventually. Until then, if you have anything you would like for me to share more on just shoot me an email at Jasminer@demarcusbsean.com
