For You I Will Rise

No one told me when I gave birth to you my whole life would change. That you would come in and turn my world upside down. Before you were born I used to stay up at night and wonder what you would look like, if you would have my eyes or if you would be identical to your brother. I wondered if I would love you like I loved your brother and if I would be a good enough mother for you.

Then you came and all that doubt and wondering went out the window. Holding you for the first time was a moment a will remember forever, a moment I replay over and over again. It was a completely different experience than I had with your brother and that’s what makes it special that’s what makes you special.

Your brother is my miracle, the blessing that saved my life. But you Ava you are my reassurance you remind me that I am enough, that anything is possible. That even on my darkest days, you will always love me because I am your mom and to you, at this time in your life there is no one greater.

I hope one day when someone asks you who you admire I make the list. Because for you I will be a better woman, for you I will overcome my darkest fears, for you, I will face my depression head on and I will overcome it all. For you Ava Brielle I will take on the world for you, I will rise.
